The referee in charge of tonight's game is Joel Ximenes, who was born in Portugal and belongs to the college of Coimbra. He is a referee in the style of Pierluigi Collina, who does not tolerate foul play, and will not allow player's disputing his decisions or throwing their toys out of the pram!

Min.2, 'deviated kick of Patrice Vergnes, in a play which started by a great cross from the right side of Gérard Obertan and a wonderful head pass of Lucien Rampillon right in front of an open goal. Min.6, the counterattack was led by Syarhey Parechyn. He tries to lob the keeper who has left his area however the ball goes just wide of the post. Min.8, Lucien Rampillon threads a through ball to Badara Collet who times his run poorly and has to wait for the ball on the left hand side. Once it got to him, he immediately passed the ball to Patrice Vergnes who hit it instantaneously towards Ionas Dashuk' goal, but it never stopped rising. Goal kick. Min.17, Uladzislaw Bardok crosses for Syarhey Parechyn, his marker Étienne Noubissie trips over and after some grappling, both players end up in a mess on the floor, they want a penalty but they're not getting it. Syarhey Parechyn hits the ball on the volley with a shot for which the keeper, Bernie Califf, has no answer. The score now stands at 1-0. The stadium can't stop clapping and cheering Syarhey Parechyn due to the fantastic goal that opens the scoreboard Min.41, Gérard Obertan sees space on the byline and he runs into it and crosses towards the head of Patrice Vergnes. However, Sergei Mikhnavets decided he fancied doing his job and cleared it with an assured header. Patrice Vergnes, is holding his side on the ground and complaining bitterly about Sergei Mikhnavets's elbow to his ribs at the same time, what a talent he has there...get up you nancy. Min.43 That was a wasted chance by Syarhey Parechyn... 1-on-1 with Bernie Califf and 5 yards from goal, and he's put it right into the stands where the France U21 fans are sitting... you can hear the donkey brays ringing from around the stadium!
