Jonathan O`Reilly, one of the legends in the world of international refs, takes control of today's match. Hopefully the Ireland born P.E. teacher, who belongs to the Kildare association, will be able to compensate for the linesmen, who have been described in the local press as "complete muppets".

Min.8, Aidan McNeill sent a deep cross towards Declan Ferguson but the keeper has come charging out and Pierce O`Byrne quickly sends a long punt up the field starting a counterattack. Min.9, the clearance by the defence was intercepted by Bertram Pellatz who tried to go past Aaron MacDonald but he failed miserably and loses possession. Min.20, It seems that Aidan McNeill has some physical problem, he is lying down on the pitch. Maybe it isn't physical at all, he could just be a bit tired or like the smell of grass. Nope, no, i was wrong, it is a physical problem, the physio has confirmed that he is in fact, hurt. Min.21 Aidan McNeill has gone down injured, but it looks like he will run it off. Min.22, Séamus Ó`Siocháin threads a through ball to Ronan O`Brien who times his run poorly and has to wait for the ball on the left hand side. Once it got to him, he immediately passed the ball to Bertram Pellatz who hit it instantaneously towards Evan McGillick' goal, but it never stopped rising. Goal kick. Min.25, John Johnston made a good run through the middle of the field which took him into the opposition half with plwnty of options, however he pondered on it for too long and Séamus Ó`Siocháin stole the ball off him and played the ball out to start what could be a dangerous counter attack. Min.26, Evan McGillick has to the corner to challenge Bertram Pellatz for the ball but erm, he failed. Fortunately for him, David Moran of Athletic Football Club Carlow has got across to cover him and plays it safe and gives away the corner. Min.30 That was a wasted chance by Christy O`Mahony... 1-on-1 with Pierce O`Byrne and 5 yards from goal, and he's put it right into the stands where the Maniacs fans are sitting... you can hear the donkey brays ringing from around the stadium! Min.32, disastrous pass by Ro Smyth who tries to pick out Declan Ferguson, but the receiver could do nothing to control the ball. They will not create too many chances with that sort of slap dashery. Min.37, Robbie O`Doherty crosses for Jordan Bell, his marker Cillian O`Reilly trips over and after some grappling, both players end up in a mess on the floor, they want a penalty but they're not getting it. Min.40, Nathan Sullivan has a pop, but Evan McGillick takes that one with ease. Min.43,'the defence of Athletic Football Club Carlow has cut the long ball towards the right touchline of Maniacs, Séamus Ó`Siocháin fought like a young wild boar but he could not leave with the ball.' Thanks for that Manuel.

Min.45,it's the end of the first half. The teams make their way to dressing rooms. The scoreboard of this 45 minutes is 0-0. The home team had 60 %. possession of the ball.

Min.46, Maniacs nearly scored. Bertram Pellatz ran onto a great ball from Séamus Ó`Siocháin, which beat the offside trap, the keeper came rushing out and the lob was attempted, but the lob didnt succeed. Min.52, Declan Ferguson loses the ball to Nathan Sullivan who takes advantage of the situation and charges down the field in opening up a scoring opportunity. Oh and he's wasted what could have been a real chance there. Min.53, the counterattack was led by Bertram Pellatz. He tries to lob the keeper who has left his area however the ball goes just wide of the post. Min.57, Bryan Cascarino drove the ball without problems in the midfield but upon arriving at his intended destination, his brakes failed and he suffered a nasty crash with the pain train, otherwise known as, Aaron MacDonald and the referee gave the foul. Min.58, Bryan Cascarino spannered that completely, much to the amusement of the opposition fans. Min.66, Ro Smyth sent a long ball towards Christy O`Mahony however Pierce O`Byrne decides to come from his area and calmly hoof it back up the field. Min.76, Possession is all very well but you have to make it count, and Robbie O`Doherty needs to make the pass. Now he plays the ball into the midfield, but the pass is too soft and poorly aimed. The rival defence intercept the ball without any problems. Poor; very poor. Min.79, Jordan Bell of Athletic Football Club Carlow shoots but hits the bar. He's got a crack at the rebound all alone in front of Pierce O`Byrne... how did he miss that?! Unbelievable.

Min.90, and that's the end of the game here, the teams make their way off the field to the applause of the crowds. The game finished 0-0. The home team had 57 %. possession of the ball.
